⚙ How DC Generators Work
A DC generator transforms mechanical energy into electrical energy using the principle of dynamically induced EMF, as described by Faraday’s Laws of Electromagnetic Induction.
📌 Three conditions are required to produce voltage:
- 🧲 Magnetic Field
- 🔌 Conductor
- 🔄 Relative Motion between the two
🛠 Core Components of a Basic DC Generator
- Magnetic Field – provided by a permanent magnet or electromagnet.
- Conductor Loop – where voltage is induced.
- Commutator & Brushes – convert alternating induction into direct current.
💡 Working Principle: Whenever a conductor cuts through magnetic flux, an EMF is generated. If the circuit is closed, this EMF drives a current — producing usable DC power.
